Course Description This course will helpstudentsincrease their English conversation ability, by the practice of expressing thoughts, feelings, and opinions regarding present activities, past experiences, and future plans. Particular emphasis will be placed on interactional skills through asking and answering questions about general information as well as for the purpose of deepening/confirming comprehension in any moment. This course will also focus on the development of strong pronunciation and listening skills.

Classroom Expectations:
Students must come to class with textbooks, notebooks, pencils/pens, and homework completed. Students without these items will lose participation points. English notebooks(minimum size: L200mmxW150mm) are to be only for English conversation class.
Participation 40% of Grade Class participation is essential to conversation class. The more you participate the better your grade will be. Do not be afraid to make mistakes. They help us learn, so just say it!!! Students will receive 1-3 participation points each class. If you do not participate, or always speak Korean, you will receive no points.
Assignments
Assignments should always include your student ID number, Korean name, English name, and class number. All written assignments, for submission in hardcopy form, must be typed in 12 point font and printed, unless otherwise stated. Late assignments will be worth half their original value.
Attendance
Students can receive one attendance point per class.(on time= 1point, Late= 0.5 point) If you are absent it will be your responsibility to find out about what you missed in class. If you have an acceptable reason for missing class and bring an official letter from your employer, doctor, or military superior, you will not lose points.
Classroom Atmosphere
Please be respectful of others. Do not interrupt when others are talking or speak in a loud voice to someone else while others are talking/presenting to the class. This is considered very rude and you will lose participation points if you do so. If you absolutely must talk, then please whisper.Absolutely no phone calls/text messages in class(airplane mode, wifi disabled).Grades will not be changed except in the case of calculation error.
